Intel Moves to Make Indoor GPS

Monday, October 31st, 2005

GPS typically isn’t considered something you’d use in an indoor environment. Track AND remote control your car with your cell phone

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

For those interested in being able to keep track of your car on the go or being able to operate some basic functions such as starting the engine remotely, Guidepoint Systems offers a premium service that allows you to track it using any WAP enabled device, including your cell phone. This relatively small investment may give you peace of mind and also help you protect the investment in your car, and the stuff you may have onboard at the time.

So here are some sample applications that come to mind:

1. Don’t remember if you locked your doors? Use your cell phone to lock it of course.

2. Want your kids to stay in the car while you make a pickup/delivery? Unlock the doors remotely for them.

3. Perhaps the most practical thing is to be able to remotely start the engine and allow it to warmup prior to leaving your house.
